Viviana has professional training as an Art Psychotherapist from Goldsmiths, University of London, and as a Psychologist from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
Viviana has worked as an Art Therapist, Psychologist, and educator of artistic processes with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of mental, educational, and social health. She currently works in her private practice developing bilingual sessions for expatriate children and families, where she performs psychotherapeutic interventions with an emphasis on issues of the third culture, adaptation, emotional regulation, identity development, and self-esteem. Viviana uses a holistic approach that acknowledges “the whole person,” and integrates the emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual aspects of human experience to achieve immediate, long-term, lasting results in alleviating emotional stress and suffering, that leads the patient to live a more well-adjusted, integrated, and satisfying life. During sessions with children and adolescents she uses a holistic approach were family dynamics are analyzed and are integrated within the patients' treatment plan. She also uses sandplay as an alternative technique to promote patients’ communication.
